Are Mexicans Planning to Conquer the United States?

by Joe Ortiz

Who is La Raza, What is a Chicano and What is Reconquista?
There is a big hue and cry (mostly from radical white Anglos-Saxon nationalists’ camps), that Mexicans are bent on conquering the United States (through a Reconquista) and want to reclaim what they believe is land that originally belonged to Mexico. These folks charge both Mexican nationals as well as many Mexican American (who were born in the United States) are secretly developing a plan to take back (at least) portions of the US (such as California, Texas, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, parts of Florida and a big chunk of Nevada. Their clarion call heard often on talk radio and on the Internet is that the Mexicans’ call for Reconquista has been launched.
This audacious rant has been ignited mostly from the incendiary seeds planted by Christian xenophobes like Eric John Phelps, author of Vatican Assassins and also by once Presidential candidate and political commentator, Patrick Buchanan, who charged thus in his 2006 book, State of Emergency: The Third World Invasion and Conquest of America:
“Paralyzed by guilt, we are inviting La Reconquista, the reconquest of the Southwest by Mexico, even as Ferdinand and Isabella affected La Reconquista of Spain in 1492 from the Moors who had invaded eight hundred years before. What Mexico’s elites have in mind, what they are systematically pursuing, is a sharing of sovereignty in these lost lands and their ultimate recapture, culturally, linguistically, by Mexico, no matter which nation holds title to them.” (State of Emergency: The Third World Invasion and Conquest of America).

Phelps, on his Vatican Assassins web site, is more salacious in describing this so-called conspiracy as he posted a picture of young angry Mexican protesters flipping the bird at those detractors who were taunting them from the sidewalks, and implies that this demonstration is a preview of a reconquista plan being orchestrated by Jesuit Catholics:
“These insulting, arrogant, Alien Roman Catholic Mexican invaders will be registered to vote for the Democratic Party(the Order’s “Social Justice” Communist Party) in Rome’s plot to drive all Whites into the arms of the Jesuits ruling the Republican Party (the Order’s anti-Communist, anti-Black, anti-Jew, White Fascist Party).
Hatefully Racist Alien Roman Catholic Mexican Invaders Occupied with Fighting and Fornicating, Southwest US, 2010.
As you can see via the attached picture, these uncivilized, crude and lewd, Alien….

The Arizona Effort to Ban La Raza-Chicano Studies in Schools

by Joe Ortiz

Hey Kids! Check out this article on Huffington Post concerning an interview with Dr. Rudy Acuna concerning the truncated effort by ‘politicos’ to disband Chicano Studies in schools.

Those who are pursuing this effort use the old “Unpatriotic ” and “Not Educationally Relevant to Success” charges to substantiate their claims; however, EVIDENCE proves otherwise.

Many on the Internet dare accuse me of being unpatriotic because I point out the social and economic inequities of our nation, failing (or unwilling) to recognize it is one of the most “patriotic” duties we have been commanded in our Constitution. They accuse me of solely advocating Mexicans above Americans, not recognizing that mine is a mandate from God to speak up for the poor

The part that troubles my heart more than anything else about the “unpatriotic” charge is America’s failure to remember the commitment that Mexican Americans have made to this country, especially in the battlefield. Did you know that Mexican Americans were the highest decorated group in the 2nd World War? And now, there is an effort going on to ship back to Mexico military veterans (who were promised citizenship if they joined the military) who fought in Vietnam, Desert Storm, Iraq and still in Aphganistan?

The Ortiz Family (the largest family in my hometown) will gather for its 50th family reunion on October 22-23. This year’s theme is “Honoring Family Members Who Served in the Military.” I’m proud to be one of many among them!

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends, (John 15:13).

Oscar Noms for Latinos in Acting, Animation, Producing and Foreign Film Categories

Beverly Hills, CA — Nominations for the 82nd Academy Awards were announced on Tuesday, February 2 by Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President Tom Sherek and 2008 Oscar® nominee Anne Hathaway. Among the over 130 nominees, five are Latinos whose nominations came in the producer, actor, foreign film and short film (animated) categories.

Below is an overview of these talented individuals:

Jonas Rivera: Nominated for an Oscar as producer in the Best Motion Picture of the Year category for his work on Pixar/WaltDisney’s animated film Up. Rivera started his career in 1994 at Pixar, working as a production assistant in their debut animated film Toy Story, which went on win an Oscar for Special Achievement. From there he worked his way up in various departments in Pixar’s list of award-winning films, finally working his way to producer of Up. He has a degree in film production from San Francisco State University.

Penelope Cruz: Nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for her work in Rob Marshall’s Nine. This is Cruz’s third Oscar nomination. She was previously nominated in 2007 for her role in Pedro Almodovar’s Volver; and in 2009 she received the Oscar for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role for Vicky Cristina Barcelona. Cruz is said to have been “surprised and elated” upon hearing of her nomination for Nine and fully credited Rob Marshall, telling People magazine, “Rob Marshall is not only a genius but an absolute joy to work with.”

In the Foreign Film Category there are two Latin American countries vying for the Oscar. They are:

For Argentina Juan Jose Campenella’s directorial of The Secret of Her Eyes. In the 1980s Campellell was ontrack to becoming an engineer in his native Argentina, but dropped out after four years at the university, commenting that the decisive factor for this decision was watching All That Jazz on the very day he was going to apply for a fifth year.

American audiences know Campenella’s work for the television shows he had directed, among them: House, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Law & Order: Criminal Intent and 30 Rock). Campenella has directed several award-winning films including The Boy Who Cried Bitch in 1991; Love Walked In in 1997; El mismo amor, la misma lluvia (1999); and Son of the Bride (2001). Since beginning the film festival circuit, The Secret of Her Eyes has been lauded internationally, and now the crowned as an Oscar nominee.

For Peru, The Milk of Sorrow directed by Claudia Llosa. Llosa is the niece of the Peruvian writer Mario Vargas Llosa and the film director Luis Llosa. A resident of Madrid, Spain, where she moved in the 1990’s to study at the film academy Escuela TAI. Her script Madeinusa won the prize for the best unpublished script at the 2003 Havana Film Festival. In 2009 Llosa finished her second film The Milk of Sorrow (La teta asustada) which was shortlisted for the 59th Berlin International Film Festival. It is the first Peruvian film nominated for the Golden Bear award, and won the main award.

Add to all this an Oscar nomination for Best Short Film (animated).

Javier Recio Gracia is both writer and director of the Oscar nominated film The Lady and the Reaper in the Animated Short Film category. Two years ago Kandor Moon, his production company, decided to make a short film as sort of a challenge to testtheir technical and artistic research, the result, an Oscar nominated film which has also been nominated for a Goya Award in its native Spain this year. WE LATINOS MUST RAISE OUR VOICES IN UNISON AND TAKE ACTION SO THAT WE CAN LIVE IN A WORLD WITHOUT AIDS

Reunion Latina 2010 is around the corner! We have so much work to do!

2010 will be indeed a demanding time for all of us: While the nation has elected a new president, the International AIDS conference was held in Mexico City this past summer, bringing light to the situation of HIV and AIDS in the Americas; and the current financial crisis is affecting all sectors of this country; we need to get involved, stay informed and work together more than ever to find ways to deal with the challenges ahead of us.

Reunion Latina continues its tradition of uniting voices and promoting actions to raise awareness among religious and civic leaders, working with the media and educating our Latino Communities about the impact of health disparities, HIV/AIDS and the effects of stigma, homophobia and discrimination.

A critical initiative this year is the promotion of a New York State HIV/AIDS Latino Action Agenda that establishes our needs and priorities, and present them to the bodies in charge of addressing the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Civic participation and mobilization are key components to reminding our elected and appointed leaders to address AIDS from an integral perspective. HIV/AIDS in the Latino community continues causing devastating effects.

EL PLAN ESPIRITUAL DE AZTLAN

IN THE SPIRIT OF A NEW PEOPLE THAT IS CONSCIOUS NOT ONLY OF ITS PROUD HISTORICAL HERRITAGE BUT ALSO OF THE BRUTAL “GRINGO” INVASION OF OUR TERRITORIES, WE, THE CHICANO INHABITANTS AND CIVILIZERS OF THE NORTHERN LAND OF AZTLAN FROM WHENCE CAME OUR FOREFATHERS, RECLAIMING THE LAND OF THEIR BIRTH AND CONSECRATING THE DETERMINATION OF OUR PEOPLE OF THE SUN, DECLARE THAT THE CALL OF OUR BLOOD IS OUR POWER, OUR RESPONSABILITY, AND OUR INEVITABLE DESTINY.

WE ARE FREE AND SOVEREIGN TO DETERMINE THOSE TASKS WHICH ARE JUSTLY CALLED FOR BY OUR HOUSE, OUR LAND, THE SWEAT OF OUR BROWS, AND BY OUR HEARTS. AZTLAN BELONGS TO THOSE WHO PLANT THE SEEDS, WATER THE FIELDS, AND GATHER THE CROPS AND NOT TO THE FOREIGN EUROPEANS. WE DO NOT RECOGNIZE CAPRICIOUS FRONTIERS ON THE BRONZE CONTINENT.

BROTHERHOOD UNITES US, AND LOVE FOR OUR BROTHERS MAKES US PEOPLE WHOSE TIME HAS COME AND WHO STRUGGLES AGAINST THE FOREIGNER “GABACHO” WHO EXPLOITS OUR RICHES AND DESTROYS OUR CULTURE. WITH OUR HEART IN OUR HANDS AND OUR HANDS IN THE SOIL, WE DECLARE THE INDEPENDENCE OF OUR MESTIZO NATION. WE ARE A BRONZE PEOPLE WITH A BRONZE CULTURE.BEFORE THE WORLD, BEFORE ALL OF NORTH AMERICA, BEFORE ALL OUR BROTHERS IN THE BRONZE CONTINENT, WE ARE A NATION, WE ARE A UNION OF FREE PUEBLOS, WE ARE AZTLAN.

—————————————————————————————————————————————————————-

I THINK BEFORE I START WRITING ANY BLOG I SHOULD WRITE THIS XICANA XICANO DECLARATION, IN THIS SENSE WE CAN GROW NOT ONLY CONCIOUSLY SI NO SPIRITUALMENTE TAMBIEN.

SE SUPONE QUE EL PAN DE ESPIRITUAL DE AZTLAN DE ACUERDO CON EL PLAN DE ACCION  SE CUMPLE UNA LUCHA POPULAR, LA LIBERACION DE LOS PUEBLOS AUTONOMOS DE AZTLAN. LA DISTRIBUCION DE ESTA DECLACION DEBE SER EN CUALQUIER JUNTA, DEMOSTRACION, CONFRONTACION, CORTE, INSTITUCION, ADMINISTRACION ETC. ESTO POR SUPUESTO NO CUMPLE AUN SU DESTINO. MI PREGUNTA ES PORQUE? DONDE QUEDA TANTA REVOLUCION DEMOCRATICA, SERA QUE LA GENTE CHICANA CHICANO DE HOY EN DIA NO LE INTERESA EL MUNDO DONDE RESIDE, EL TOMAR EL LUGAR QUE CORRESPONDE COMO PUEBLO AUTONOMO? LA ALINEACION ES DURA SIN DUDA, PERO AL SER CONCRETOS CREO SERIA MAS FACIL SI RETOMARAMOS LAS PALABRAS DEL YA BASTA.

PS.ALURISTA EL AUTOR DE ESTA DECLARACION SE MANTIENE VIVITO Y COLEANDO POR TIJUAS!

TIENE UNA COLECCION DE LIBROS POETICOS. SI QUIEREN UNO LOS TIENE EN VENTA Y SERIA UN PLACER PARA EL FIRMARLE UNA COPIA.
