Our next guest is a very special musician via Mario Moreno who is in the Arizona Blues Hall of Fame. Mario Moreno once played with Voodoo Kings for about 11 years, and it was a really popular band in the southwest during the 80s and 90s. Voodoo Kings is no longer in existence since most of the band members have already died — and once the singer (who put Voodoo Kings band together) died, the band pretty much dissolved.
We play a really good song at the end of our interview with Mario Moreno titled: Latin Kind Of Blues.
I feel very fortunate having interviewed Mario since he is one of the Voodoo Kings musicians, and retaining history and recording it while keeping a catalog of Chicano Music History is important.
To book with Los Morenos Band, you can email the band at [email protected].
In our broadcast, you will hear a one minute message from a deported veteran via Mark Isaacs who is living in South American currently…and was deported after serving 2 terms in the U.S. Army….with TWO honorable discharges. He gives a shout out to his loved ones who are still living here int he US. Special thanks to Hector Barajas for continuing on with his mission.
